The AP reports that Conrad Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the June 2009 death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. Faster than you can say ‘propofol,’ the drug that the Houston cardiologist used on Jackson to help him sleep, and which killed him, he has pleaded not guilty.
I can’t blame Dr. Murray for not wanting to take a deal and plead out. After all, it’s 4 years at most if he is convicted of the crime that brands him with neither malice, nor intent to kill Jackson; perhaps it will be less than that. And if he’s found not guilty, it will be n

Disability Scoop: Older mothers are more likely to give birth to a child with autism, largely irrespective of the father's age, one of the biggest population-based studies of and parental ageautism has found.
The risk of having a child with autism increases by 18 percent for every five years a woman ages before giving birth, according to research published online Monday in the journal Autism Research. That means a 40-year-old woman is 50 percent more likely to have a child with autism than a mother who is age 25 to 29.

(TOKYO KELLY OLSEN, AP) - Toyota plans to recall about 300,000 Prius hybrids worldwide over a brake problem and will notify the U.S. and Japanese governments Tuesday, a news report said.
The recall of the gas-electric Prius will cover cars that went on sale since May last year through January, Kyodo news agency reported late Monday.
Kyodo, which did not identify its sources for the information, said the automaker will notify authorities in Japan and the U.S. of its plan, which will cover more than 270,000 of the hybrids sold in the two countries.

It was an historic game day Sunday as the New Orleans Saints not only played in but won the first Super Bowl in franchise history. It also marked what many saw as a new beginning for a city that is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. After the game, Saints quarterback Drew Brees dedicated the win to The Big Easy.
The game was definitely exciting - always a nice perk for a contest whose commercials often outshine the game play - but that doesn't mean it was the only thing viewers tuned in to watch. The Who performed at half-time and the ad theme of the year seemed to be men without pants. Did you watch the Super Bowl? What did you think about the show?
We must be getting close to Valentine's Day because Avatar was finally knocked off its box office throne...by a romantic tear-jerker called 'Dear John'. The movie follows the ill-fated love of a young soldier and his college girlfriend. While critics have been lukewarm at best on this movie, throngs of women flocked to see it this weekend. Did you check out this movie? Tell us what you think!

College is a huge investment, but getting a college education can lead to more job opportunities and higher pay, and can open doors to things you might have never imagined.
Top Searched Ways to Survive College Expenses on AOL Search:
1. FAFSA
2. Pell Grant
3. Scholarships
4. Private Student Loans
5. Federal Student Loans
6. Student Loan Debt Consolidation
7. ROTC
8. 529 Plans
9. CLEP Exams
10. Federal College Work-Study Programs
One of the main reasons students decide against going to college is the cost. Tuition, housing and books alone rack up quite a bill, but before you cross higher education off your to-do list, take a look at some of the popular ways our users are searching to pay for college.
Whether the expense of college is far in your future, or coming around the bend, there are financial options for everyone. As you can see from the list below, there are financial options for everyone. The most commonly searched way to secure funds for college is by submitting a FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid). This must be filled out to receive any type of Federal Student Loan, such as the Federal Stafford Loan, the Federal PLUS Loan and the Federal Perkins Loan.
On the campaign trail in 2008, President Obama promised to eliminate the FAFSA form -- with more than 100 questions across six pages, many families are intimidated by the process, and some even pay for professional help filling it out. If you end up needing more money than your federal loans provide, you can then turn to private student loans. You can get these loans from your school or from private financial institutions such as Sallie Mae or MyRichUncle. There are also student loan debt consolidation programs that can help reduce student debt and loan payments. There are specific programs for private student loan consolidation and federal student loans consolidation.
In addition to loans and grants, there are other things students can do to raise money for college (or save on expenses). Students can take CLEP exams to get credit for classes without taking the courses, saving money and time. There are also opportunities like joining an ROTC program, taking part in a work-study program or participating in Learn & Serve America.
Do you know of any other options that did not show up on our list? If so, tell us about them. For more information on paying for college, go to AOL Money and Finance. Also search for paying for college on AOL Search.

In the last few years, we've seen a number of New York teams' stadiums fall victim to the wrecking ball. First it was Shea Stadium, home of the Mets, in 2008; then it was Yankee Stadium in 2009. Today, teams began dismantling Giants Stadium. This stadium, located at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey, has only been the Giant's home since 1976, but it has become infamous as the suspected burial spot of murdered mobster Jimmy Hoffa.
In 2005, an investigation by the TV show 'Mythbusters' was unable to prove or disprove this urban legend. Will the demolition shed more light on the subject? The Giants' new stadium will officially open in the Spring with a Bon Jovi concert.
And since we're on the subject of football, it's worth noting that a little game called the Super Bowl will be happening this Sunday in New Orleans. Whether you watch to root on your favorite team or just to see the commercials, having plenty of food on-hand for the game is a must. Why not try out some new Super Bowl recipes this year? You could try some new versions of old standbys like bean dip, potato skins and guacamole, or you could tailor your menu to match the culinary traditions of your team's city. Will you be serving Hoosier chili for the Indianapolis Colts, or jambalaya and po' boys for the New Orleans Saints?

The Material Girl has thrown her weight (and her cash) behind Vita Coco, a New York-based supplier of coconut water. The beverage is made from the juice of young green coconuts and is said to offer a number of health benefits including disease-fighting properties from its high levels of lauric acid; however, as Brazilians have known for years, its biggest benefit is that it tastes great.
But don't take my word for it: just ask Madonna. Want to try it out yourself? Vita Coco is available at Whole Foods and other better grocery stores, as well as online through Amazon.
Hardly a day goes by without more news of the massive Toyota recall. The latest bit involves the Prius hybrid, a vehicle that was not included in the original recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US has received more than 100 complaints of unintended acceleration in newer-model Prius sedans, fueling speculation that the problem is software related rather than mechanical. Will this push hybrid buyers to consider other models such as the Honda Insight?

Hang on to your sorting hats, Potterheads! A certain boy wizard could be coming soon to a theme park near you, and none other than Daniel Ratcliffe will be appearing in a Super Bowl ad this Sunday to make the announcement. The new Harry Potter experience at Universal Studios Orlando promises to be fun for muggles and magical people alike. While the details are still closely guarded, the ad hints at a dueling dragons rollercoaster as well as a Quidditch-themed ride in which visitors are whisked around Hogwart's Castle on flying broomsticks. The opening could be a boon to Florida tourism, an industry that has suffered greatly due to the recent recession. Family fun plus economic stimulus? I'll raise a butterbeer to that!
If you want to review your wizarding history on the way to Orlando, it may cost you more if you decide to use a Kindle to do it. Amazon announced today that they will be raising prices for some of their e-books. The announcement comes on the heels of last week's iPad release. Will this push people to buy Apple's latest product?
Yesterday, Toyota finally announced that they have identified a fix for the problem that spurred the recall of millions of popular cars and caused Consumer Reports to suspend their recommended ratings for the affected vehicles. New cars will be outfitted with a redesigned gas pedal, and vehicles under recall will be retrofitted with a small metal bar to reduce excess friction. While Toyota has claimed that the problem is mechanical, there has been widespread speculation that it may have to do with a faulty Toyota sensor. Regardless of the cause, there are steps you can take to stop your car in the case of sudden unintended acceleration. Visit our sister site Autoblog for full details.

After years of searching, I am very excited to have finally found the perfect bed frame. I decided it would be a good time to upgrade from a queen sized bed to a king sized bed so now I'm also looking for a new mattress set.

The last time I purchased one was nearly a decade ago and I was shocked by all of the new options that have hit the market in the past few years. I decided to see what kind of mattresses our AOL Search users are interested in to help me decide what I should try.
No longer is mattress shopping just about picking a brand. Now there are also many options for materials and a host of eco-friendly mattresses made out of natural materials including cotton, wool and even plant-based memory foam.
Where should I even begin? I was a little overwhelmed so I decided to start in familiar territory. I've been very happy with my Serta pillow-top mattress so I headed to my local Sleepy's store to try a few out. They were just as comfortable as always, but of course I wanted to try some others as well.
Since the Tempurpedic was #1 on our list, I thought it was definitely worth a try, and I was not disappointed. This new material conforms to your body and helps provide proper alignment for your spine - no more waking up stiff and tired in the morning!
In the end, though, it was a Stearns and Foster latex mattress that won me over. This natural material has a number of advantages over traditional innerspring mattresses. It is resistant to dust mites, hypoallergenic, and anti-bacterial, and (similar to the Tempurpedic) it conforms to the body for a more supported rest. The soft bamboo cover helps it breathe. There really is nothing like a good night's sleep.

The weekend may have been dominated by the glitz and glamor of the Grammys, but it's a certain groundhog who's stealing the spotlight this week. Groundhog Day isn't until tomorrow, but Pennsylvania's most famous rodent, Punxsutawney Phil, has been getting a lot of early attention. Phil is the star of the annual Groundhog Day festival during which the animal emerges from his burrow. Thousands of people visit Pennsylvania for the event which is said to predict when winter will end. Animal rights group PETA has petitioned festival organizers to consider trading in the furry Phil for a robotic rodent. They fear that the animal may be frightened by the lights and crowds, but event administrators claim that Phil is very well-treated. Have you ever been to the Groundhog Day festival? Would it be the same with a robot?

And finally, there is speculation that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates when the home buyer tax credits expire later this Spring. If you are planning to purchase a home, it may be time to ramp up your search. While rates are still low overall, even a small percentage difference on a 30 year fixed rate mortgage can add up each month. It's just one more thing to factor in to your home buying decision. Have you purchased a home recently, or do you prefer to rent?

Novelist JD Salinger, author of the classic (and always controversial) coming-of-age tale 'The Catcher in the Rye,' died Wednesday at age 91. His novels are widely assigned in schools and have influenced generations of authors and film makers, but it has been more than 40 years since the reclusive author published anything new. The days are getting longer again which can only mean one thing: the Spring cycling season is almost here! If you're in the market for a new bike, it's a great time to start looking. Have you considered these brands?
Top Searched Bicycles on AOL Search:
1. Trek
2. Giant
3. KHS
4. Schwinn
5. Diamondback
6. Mongoose
7. Citizen Bike
8. Cannondale

One of the most important considerations for your bike purchase is the kind of riding you're planning to do. The good news is that there are now great options available across many styles and price points.
If you have desire to channel your inner Lance Armstrong, check out a road bike. These bikes are built for speed. They feature drop handlebars for an aggressive riding position and skinny, high-pressure tires to decrease rolling resistance. They perform best on smooth surfaces and can be well-suited to recreational riding and longer commutes as well as racing. Road bikes are available in a variety of materials including steel, aluminum, titanium and carbon fiber. You'll want to consider weight, ride feel and price when choosing between materials. Trek, #1 on our list, has made bikes for Lance (and many other professional racers) for years, but they also offer a number of great options for more casual riders, too. Both Trek and #8 Cannondale offer several road bikes for women.
Do you dream of peddling through the woods and jumping over rocks and streams? With their fat, grippy tires and small frames for easier control on rough terrain, mountain bikes are made for off-roading. Many also offer disc brakes for improved performance when it matters most. But keep in mind that not all mountain bikes are created equal. Nearly all modern mountain bikes offer front suspension to cushion a rough ride, but if you're planning to do very technical riding, you may want to consider a full-suspension mountain bike. Giant, our #2 searched brand, offers an array of mountain bikes from hard-tail lifestyle bikes to pro-level free-ride bikes with up to 7 inches of rear travel.
Urban bikes are all about utility. If you're planning a short commute to and from work or run errands on your new bike, this is probably the best choice for you. Most urban bikes are moderately priced, made from steel or aluminum and offer a relaxed riding position. Some even come outfitted with fenders and racks. Fixed-gear bikes also fall into this class. While they've been the go-to style for bike messengers for years, fixies have recently gained widespread popularity for their simplicity and responsiveness. Schwinn, #4 on our list, and #10 Raleigh are classic names in cycling that offer a number of retro-styled urban bikes in fixed-gear, single-speed and multiple speed models. If space or storage is an issue, a folding bike such as those made by #7 Citizen Bike may offer a great balance of form and function.
While you're in the bike shop, don't forget to pick up the things you need to protect yourself and your investment. A "brain bucket" might not be stylish, but a bicycle helmet can provide essential protection in a crash. Look for one that carries a seal of approval from ANSI, the CPSC or the Snell Memorial Foundation. You may also want to consider a pair of cycling gloves to pad your hands if you'll be riding long distances. A good quality U-lock such as those offered by Kryptonite Locks is generally the best all-around option for theft deterrence. Choose one that allows you to secure both the front wheel and the frame to a bike rack.
Happy riding!

Toyota's recall woes go on and on. After halting sales of 8 models earlier in the week due to faulty gas pedals, the Japanese automaker announced today that it was recalling more than a million additional vehicles, including the 2009 - 2010 Pontiac Vibe. Toyota manufactured the Vibe, a clone of its Matrix hatchback, in partnership with GM until the Pontiac line was discontinued late last year. Will the harm to Toyota's reputation give a revitalized Ford a new edge in the market?

All diets offer different ways of approaching the same goal: losing weight. Before you plunge in to a diet plan, it is important to shop around a bit for a diet program that will work best for you. Are you looking to lose weight quickly? An extreme diet like number 10, the Cabbage Soup Diet, will help you shed pounds fast. If you are looking for more long-term weight loss, try a weight loss program, like Jenny Craig (no. 5).
Number one on the list has been around since the 1960s. Weight Watchers allows you to keep eating the foods you like by monitoring them with a points system. Their famous meetings bring fellow dieters together in a support setting. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can also track your diet online.
A recent study shows that following the Mediterranean Diet (no. 4) can help you live a longer life. The basic tenements of the diet promote moderate alcohol consumption, little meat and lots of vegetables. These tactics have been strongly linked to longevity. So tonight at dinner, pour yourself a glass of wine and dig in to some healthy vegetables and beans.
The Gluten Free Diet, number 8, is much more than a diet; it is a lifestyle. Celebs like Jenny McCarthy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck swear by it. Both stars released books about the diet. McCarthy said eliminating gluten from her sons diet helped him recover from autism and Hasselbeck depends on the diet to control her celiac disease.
The Flat Belly Diet specifically aims to trim down your torso fat and promotes consuming monounsaturated fat with meals. It climbed up on our list today after releasing a new diet cookbook for recipe ideas. You can also track your progress on their diet site.

The food we eat, the hygiene products we use and the solvents we clean with all contain artificial preservatives and chemicals that can block up our body's system until we flush them out properly. Just like you change the oil in your car, every now and then it is good to clear out the toxins in our systems and replenish our bodies with healthier vitamins and minerals.
If you often feel sluggish throughout the day, now is a good time to detox your body. The basic tenets of detoxifying focus on ridding the body of the toxins we encounter at work, home or through personal care and replacing them with nourishment for our body. A great place to start is with a detox diet. Simply drink more water and eat more nutrient-rich foods, such as fiber and organic fruits and vegetables. Meanwhile, cut out refined foods with preservatives, additives, hormones and hydrogenated fats. Most importantly, make sure to cleanse and protect the liver, your body's filter, by cutting out all drugs, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. With dedication, a detox diet should leave you with more energy and you may even lose weight.

Awards season is now in full swing, and on Saturday the Screen Actors Guild handed out its annual honors. The event is a for-actors, by-actors affair and awards are given to stars of both the large and small screens. 'Inglorious Basterds' was the big winner in the film category. Quentin Tarentino's WWII flick scored awards for both best picture and best supporting male actor. On the TV side, 'Mad Men' took the honors for best drama and 'Glee' won for best comedy.
It was a big weekend in sports as the New Orleans Saints battled the Minnesota Vikings for the NFC championship title. In the end, not even a new team song by hometown hero Prince or the leadership of legendary quarterback Brett Favre could hold off the Saints as New Orleans secured their first-ever Super Bowl berth in a knuckle-biting 31-28 overtime win at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
Is trouble brewing for two Tinseltown couples? Actor Gary Coleman was arrested in Utah over the weekend for failure to appear in court over an assault charge. While the victim was not named, there is speculation that it is his wife, 24-year-old Shannon Price. Rumors are also flying about the possible demise of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's relationship as a report over the weekend says Jolie is headed to divorce court. There's only one problem: the couple has never legally married. What do you think is really going on?

I feel as though every time I turn around one of my girlfriends is getting cosmetic surgery done. Just last week my girlfriend went and had liposuction done. A week later she was still in pain and all bandaged up. I'm sure the end results will make it all worth it though ... right?
Top Searched Cosmetic Procedures:
1. Botox
2. Liposuction
3. Breast augmentation
4. Restylane
5. Juvederm
6. Tummy tuck
7. Face lift
8. Breast reduction
9. Eyelid surgery
10. Macrolane
Some of my girlfriends that have undergone cosmetic procedures actually regret it. My one girlfriend had a nose job that went horribly wrong. After undergoing the plastic surgery and a week of severe pain it was time to remove the bandages. When she looked in the mirror she could not believe how horrible her new nose looked. All that pain and then she had to go through the surgery again.
On the other hand, I do have some girlfriends that had breast augmentations, tummy tucks and botox injections and loved the results. I guess it's a risk you have to take if you want to have a cosmetic procedure done.
Some cosmetic procedures are less invasive than others, and more popular for people looking to enhance their natural features. Injections like Restylane (number 4) and Juvederm (number 5) are used as fillers to smooth out wrinkles. Botox (number 1) is a less severe cosmetic procedure because it only takes about 10 minutes and requires no recovery time. Similar to these injections, Macrolane is used as a non-surgical alternative to breast augmentations (number 3).
Some of these plastic surgeries cost a lot, but you can often get plastic surgery financing to make your procedure more affordable. Try not to choose your doctor solely based on the price of your surgery. Research each cosmetic surgeon carefully and make sure you see examples of their previous work.
Do you know of a cosmetic procedure that's not on our top searched list? If so tell us about it. Try searching for cosmetic procedures on AOL Search or check out AOL Health for more information on cosmetic procedures.

After months of falling ratings, several rounds of tense negotiations and countless late-night jabs, Conan O'Brien and NBC have finally agreed to go their separate ways. The settlement clears the way for Jay Leno's return to the 'Tonight Show', but will viewers follow Conan to a new network? For the more than half-million people who have joined the "I'm With Coco" Facebook group - as well as the thousands of others who turned out at rallies in support of O'Brien - the answer would seem to be yes. Who really won this battle? Are you on team Jay or are you with Coco? Leave a note below to let us know!
While NBC can use all the publicity it can get, John Edwards would probably welcome a break from it right about now. Edwards finally publically admitted fathering a child, 22-month-old Quinn, with Reille Hunter during his 2008 presidential campaign. His publicist is citing the complexities of the situation as the reason for more than a year's worth of vehement denials. Are you buying it?
